I started cooking when I was about 10 years old. I remembered vividly how my grandmother used to show me how to dry-fry black beans over the charcoal stove and how the beans hitting the wok changes from low uninteresting sound to lively high “ting-ing” pitch.

I am interested to cook appetizing, yet humble food that satisfies not only our taste buds and our stomach but also our vision. I am hoping to use this blog as a way of showing people how we can cook our daily meals using affordable ingredients. How these simple ingredients can be transformed into delicious and pretty-looking food.
